Organic Fashion at its Finest
My quest for the all organic spring wardrobe isn’t going so well people. Yes…I have found organic jeans thanks to Levi’s. (I’ll keep you posted once I get a pair.) But what about spring/summer wear? Hey organic designers…how about capri pants with a zipper? How about summer dresses with a waist? So if you see a woman walking down the streets of NYC wearing what appears to be an adult Onesie, a moo-moo, straw legwarmers and Birkenstocks …just know it is me, the organicneedle, and I am trying.

Your blog won’t let me comment. Booo!!
God damn it. So it DOES let me comment, but not with the list of links it took me forever to compile for you.
Can I point out the obvious, here? You. know. how. to. sew. So you are already way ahead of the game. Find yourself some nice organic fabric and go to town. Or “reclaim” some fabric/clothes/etc on Freecycle or the local thrift shop and also go to town.
Sorry Arduous…not sure why it is messing with ya.
heather t…I have a sewing list about 5 pages long. Sewing pants and junk is really time consuming and frankly I’m not that good at it. I will make some skirts and attempt a dress or two but the more tailored stuff I need to outsource. One of my major complaints about organics is nothing is tailored because it is all mail order.
Levi’s eco line doesn’t seem to have boot cut though…maybe in due time they will bring it.
Have you tried looking for clothes via this list?
I have a very difficult time finding clothes that flatter me. Maybe I don’t have the patience to try every outfit in the store, but sometimes I feel like I have the strangest shaped body.
I’ve found some clothes at the thrift store that flatter me, but I am not ready for hippie look right now.
There is a boot cut, which is what I will order. See… Bootcut 553 Jeans . It is definitely a limited line. I was going to try to pick up a skirt but the short one they only have in size 0 and the longer one only in size 14. The long one looks really cute too.
I will definitely check out the co-op site. Thanks for the tip.
